Welcome! I'm Kayla and I look forward to meeting you. Life can often be hard and uncertain and it's okay to ask for help, in fact, I encourage it! While pain is not executed in isolation, neither is healing. I believe how we experience this life depends on our sense of belonging, made up of our connections, and especially our connection to our self. I want you to experience belonging right where you are at- in your body, mind, family and community. Through therapy, I will walk beside you to process the difficult things you have been through and build your connections to both yourself and supports. I'd be honored to join your community.
I have my Masters in Counseling from Northern Arizona University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). My background experience is working with diverse populations including adolescents 11+, teens, families, and adults. I also have experience in group work. Specializing in treating relational traumas, complex trauma and PTSD, anxiety, LGBTQIA+ issues, grief and loss, life transitions, school issues, general stressors and women’s issues, I use a trauma informed approach in all that I do. I believe you are the expert of your experience and will use my knowledge and skills to support your desires and decisions. Because of this, I am eclectic and tailor treatment directly to your needs.
I am trained in EMDR, Trauma Informed Healing for LGBTQIA+ Communities, 30-Hour Crisis Counselor Certification, and Red Cross Psychological First Aid. I utilize the following approaches to assist clients in meeting their goals: Mindfulness Based Counseling (MBCT), Person-Centered, Strengths Based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Psychoanalytic Therapy.
If you want to feel like you belong, if you want to heal, if you want to know yourself more deeply, if you want to feel like this life is a little less hard and a little less uncertain, I would love to talk to you.
